What to expect

Once you reach out, here’s how the process typically unfolds:

We’ll connect to discuss your product and confirm fit. We’ll coordinate acquiring production samples for our testing team. Our journalists evaluate your product against category-specific criteria over approximately four weeks — rush timelines are available for time-sensitive launches. You receive your certification decision, along with a detailed report and 30-minute review session.

Pricing is based on product category and discussed during your initial consultation.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if my product doesn’t pass?

Products that don’t earn certification have a significant flaw identified during evaluation. You’ll receive a detailed report outlining exactly what we found, and we’ll walk through the results together in your 30-minute review call. Many brands find this feedback genuinely valuable — it identifies issues that drive negative reviews and returns before they become a larger problem. Failed evaluations are not made public.

Can I resubmit a product that didn’t pass?

Yes. If you make improvements based on our feedback, you can resubmit for re-evaluation at a 50% discount on the standard fee. There’s no set waiting period, but we do expect meaningful product changes before resubmission.

How long does certification last?

Certification and the associated logo license typically last two years. Certain product categories may have shorter or longer certification periods — this will be confirmed during your initial consultation.

Can I appeal the certification decision?

Yes. You may submit a written appeal, which will be reviewed during your 30-minute call. Techlicious retains sole discretion over whether to retest or revise the decision.

Are failed evaluations made public?

No. If your product doesn’t earn certification, the evaluation and its findings remain confidential. Only certified products appear in the Techlicious Certified product directory.

What product categories do you evaluate?
